Whether you’re a new startup or an established player, every prospect and customer conversation has the potential to teach you something. Earlier this year, we started to notice a pattern.

Seaber helps shipowners and industrial charterers to visualize, plan, and optimize their voyage schedule. Teams can finally replace sprawling spreadsheets with data-driven decision support and fleet-wide visibility. The interest from prospects was clear, but some remained hesitant to commit. The concern wasn’t about the product but rather the perception of buying. In an era of lean teams and tighter budgets, the idea of managing ‘one more’ enterprise software rollout carried its own friction.

So we asked ourselves: what if getting started with Seaber was faster, lighter, and lower-risk, and was able to deliver without compromising on value?

That’s what led to the Entry Level Program. It’s a specific commercial and onboarding track designed to help customers prove value more quickly, with less friction.

Reducing complexity and risk

We began testing a simplified approach with a few customers who fit a clear profile:

  • Scheduling and Chartering teams for shipowners or industrial charters
  • Growing frustration with spreadsheets and stitched together tools
  • Strong motivation to get moving quickly

We focused on reducing both implementation complexity and commercial risk.

Instead of a long discovery process, we used preconfigured starting points. Instead of a high-commitment launch, we structured pricing for a smaller entry. And we set aggressive project timelines - get the customer up and running in 4 weeks with stable exit from hypercare shortly after.

Key learnings

These early engagements taught us what worked, and what needed refinement.

  • Speed matters, but not at the cost of clarity. Defining a success plan up front made a big difference. Stakeholders and users understood the project end to end.
  • Templates help, but you can’t force customers to fit rigid configurations; discovery remains a key part of ensuring the solution we implement is fit for purpose in the customer’s particular environment
  • Our customers value early collaboration and seeing work in progress - introducing change is about people, not just software. Having a dedicated CS partner made the experience feel supported.

Quick and simple go-live

The Entry Level Program is built for customers who want to go live quickly without the overhead of a full enterprise scale rollout.

It’s not a stripped-down experience. It’s a different one.

Key elements:

  • A focused kickoff session to validate or refine the goals and success metrics that came out of the sales process
  • Discovery against well-known configurations and customer profiles
  • A smaller commercial entry point to reduce risk
  • A 4–6 week delivery window, supported by Seaber’s CS team

It’s ideal for companies who want to try Seaber in a real-world setting. And it won’t require a steering committee or a months-long project plan.

Ideal for fast moving teams

The Entry Level Program isn’t a replacement for our enterprise onboarding model, although the lessons we learned on how to deliver value more quickly absolutely apply to our larger projects as well.

But for fast-moving teams, the Entry Level Program is now our default path.

We’ll keep refining it. We’ll keep learning from customer feedback. And we’ll keep building tools, templates, and processes that make onboarding faster and more effective.

By helping people and technology work better together, Seaber strengthens teams and enables them to handle their work more efficiently. Reducing complexity, unlocking hidden value, and saving time - our Entry Level Program makes it easier than ever to put Seaber to work in your team.
